BYU Ballroom Dance

On Friday, Jan 29th, Lon, Tyler, Tiffany & I went to a performance by the BYU Ballroom Dance team. Lon took me for my birthday and Tyler & Tiffany went because they are taking a ballroom dance class right now and wanted to go. The tickets were $12 and was at CSI in Twin Falls. The performance was incredible! Since we were not allowed to take pictures, I found a few pictures of the dances we saw on the internet.

Nephew & Niece

We have a new nephew & niece (and our children have new cousins), both born in January. Porter James (Richard & Kara's) was born on Jan. 20th and Kiera Maylanie (Stephanie & Jared's) was born on Jan 23rd. Maylanie is after Jared's aunt who passed away at age 2 from a brain tumor several years before Jared was born. It is Hawaiian for "beautiful orchid." Also Maylanie is after Stephanie & her sister Melanie (me) who have the same ending to their names.Welcome to our family!

Justin's birthday

Justin had a great birthday. His Egbert grandparents were able to come over for cake & ice cream. They gave him some sticker & activity books. His Chapple grandparents gave him a sticker activity book & $5. He also got a Thomas train set, remote control, PS2 Cars game.

Lon brought these beautiful roses home for me on Tuesday. I am a lucky woman to be married to such a wonderful husband & father to our 6 children!

Happy 5th Birthday, JUSTIN! You are such a good little boy who is almost always willing to give everyone a big smile! You are a good big brother to Brianna and nice to share your legos and cars with her. You do a good job of writing your name, bouncing any ball, counting, ABCs & cutting paper into tiny pieces! We love you and are so thankful to have you in our family.

1st Place----Yeah TYLER!!!

Tyler had a great weekend of wrestling at the Magic Valley Classic (Jan 15 & 16). There were 24 wrestling teams that came to Wendell to participate. Last year, Tyler took 5th place at the Magic Valley Classic. On Friday night, Tyler wrestled 2 times for a total of 1 minute. He pinned the 1st guy (from Valley) in 14 seconds. He pinned the 2nd guy (from Garden Valley) in 46 seconds. Saturday morning, he pinned a guy from Firth in the 3rd round. Then, he was on to the championship round! After three 2 minute rounds, the score was 1-1, so they went into a 1 minute overtime (1st point wins). No one scored, so they went into double overtime (sudden death, which is two 30 second rounds---both get a chance to score). During the first 30 seconds, the other guy got a 1 point escape. During the second 30 second period, Tyler chose down and did a switch for a 2 point reversal and held on to win! Tyler took 4th place at the Buhl Invitational on Jan. 8 & 9. Last year he did not place at this tournament and is getting better every match. Thanks to Lon, Troy & Paul for taking the time to work with him and help him improve his skills and learn more.

Lindsey's 3rd grade program

Lindsey's 3rd grade class had a Christmas singing program. Lindsey tried out & got the part of Sally Snowflake, which she loved! She did great on her speaking part & singing the songs! The music teacher at the Elementary School always does an incredible job teaching the children their songs and having them perform.

Trip to Boise

On New Year's Day, our family went to Boise/Meridian for one of Josh's basketball games at Cole Valley Christian School, which was on Saturday. We decided to take advantage of Lon being off work on Friday and spend the night in Meridian. We stayed at the Hyatt Place, which was so nice! Our room had 2 queen beds and another little area that had a couch. It also had a 42" TV, which seemed huge! We had a fun weekend.
