October 22nd was the last JV football game for the season. Tyler & Joshua both played on the JV football team and Tyler also played on Varsity this year. Tyler chose to play on JV, knowing that he would be able to play a lot more than on just varisty, and he did! Tyler played cornerback (defense), kick-off, kick-off return and middle linebacker (due to players being sick for the last 3 games). Joshua played wide receiver, cornerback, kick-off and kick-off return. In the program, Tyler was listed as 5' 6" and 140 lbs. Joshua was listed as 5' 7" and 130 lbs. When I questioned the boys about this, Josh said that his coach added height and weight to almost everyone (not those who are on varsity but play on JV). So really Josh is 5' 6" and 120 lbs. They both seemed to enjoy playing football and are looking forward to wrestling (Tyler) and basketball (Joshua) starting soon. We enjoyed going to their games and watching them play. We are excited that the next sports are indoors because it is really starting to get cold at nights!

Corn Maze
For Family Home Evening, we went with Nebeker's & Withers to the CSI (College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls) corn maze for only $5 per family. We squished 15 people into our van, grabbed pizza for dinner on the way and met Withers at the corn maze. We all enjoyed getting "lost" and then finding our way out of the maze. Afterward, we had hot chocolate and then drove home. Fun evening. :-)

BYU Lost & Found Sale
On Friday, October 16th, Joshua, Tiffany, Tina (a friend) & I drove to Provo for the BYU Lost & Found Sale on Saturday the 17th. We stayed with Ryan & Heather and Tina stayed at her brother's house. This is my 1st time going to the sale and if you know me, I enjoy going to garage sales, thrift stores, etc. The sale started at 9 am, so we (Ryan went with us) arrived at BYU around 7:15 am and waited in line for the doors to open. There were already a lot of people in front of us. Once the doors opened, it was a mad rush to find some good items to buy. People were grabbing stuff and it seemed like most of the good stuff was gone in about 30 minutes. Joshua, Tiffany & Tina stood in line to go to the jewelry room, where they were limited to 3 items each. We checked out and then Josh wanted to go back in and get some sunglasses, so we did. We ended up buying more stuff the 2nd time since people put back some of the stuff they decided they didn't want and we did! We had a lot of fun "shopping". We were able to get 5 CTR rings, watch, 5 BYU sweatshirts, coat/jacket, 2 hats, beanie, umbrella, sunglasses, water bottles, BYU football, 2 scripture cases, headphones, & 2 hats, all for less than $50. We hope to be able to go again next year!

Grape Juice!
Last week was time for our grapes to be steamed/juiced & bottled. Between the grapes from our grape vines and the grapes that Lon's mom picked for us (Thanks, Ann), we were able to get around 70 quarts of grapes juice. Yum! Brianna loves to help and especially enjoyed getting to put her feet in the water once all of the grapes had been washed.

This girl just makes us laugh!
Brianna is 18 months old! She is so funny & runs everywhere she goes. The last few weeks, whenever I pull out my camera, she runs to the door and puts on a silly smile, all ready to get her picture taken. As soon as the picture is taken, she runs to see what the picture looks like and then runs back to the door to have another picture taken. So much fun!

Do we have a cheerleader?
Our children wanted their faces painted for the Wendell football game tonight. We painted a "W" and a "T" for Wendell Trojans.

1st snowfall
We woke up to our 1st snowfall of the season today. The trees have not lost their leaves yet, so some branches in the area were broken because of the weight of the snow. Tiffany, Lindsey & Justin were still able to find enough snow to make a small snowman. We were able to enjoy another wonderful General Conference in our warm, comfortable home.

Go BYU Cougars!
Lon, Tyler, Joshua & I (Melanie) went to the BYU vs. Utah State football game in Provo, thanks to Grandma Stokes giving us the 4 tickets. Many thanks to Heather & Ryan for watching our other children so that we could go to the game. We enjoyed the game at LaVelle Edwards Stadium, especially since BYU won 35-17. Games are so much more fun when the team you are rooting for wins! Go Cougars!

Garage / Shed finished
Our detached garage / shed is now finished. Now we are working on getting the black mat down and then rocks for the driveway. After that, we will work on the electrical inside so that we can get garage door openers! Then shelves, then.......hopefully not fill it with too many things we don't really need.
