Surprise visitors!

On Friday evening, we received a call from Megan letting us know that they were in Idaho (quick trip for them---they were staying in UT with relatives). She asked if they could spend the night---of course! So, we picked them up after they had gone to see their Grandpa at a nursing home. We were only able to spend less than 12 hours with them, but we are thankful that we were able to see them. Only Tiffany, Brianna & I (Melanie) were home at the time because Lon, Lindsey & Justin were at the Stokes reunion and Tyler & Josh were whitewater rafting. While they were here, we talked, rode on our ATV, talked, played games, talked, finally went to bed around midnight. We woke up at 5 a.m. to do our paper routes, ate breakfast and drove them to Burley to meet up with relatives at 8 a.m. so they could go to Bear Lake, back to Provo and then back to AZ on Sunday. Thanks for visiting us!

Log bed

On June 21st, Lon & I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary. When we were first married, we had a water bed. In December 1997, we bought a regular bed. Ever since then, we have wanted a headboard but we were never able to get one. So, for our anniversary, we decided to finally buy a headboard & foot board for our bed.

ATV

When I (Melanie) was growing up, my siblings & I always dreamed of owning a 3 wheeler. For hours, we took turns pushing each other around on my Grandparents old riding lawnmower. Whenever we had the chance to ride on our friends 3 wheeler, we were excited and had a lot of fun! Eventually, my Grandparents gave us their old riding lawn mower and my Dad put a lawn mower motor on it. We had hours of fun riding around on it. Now, jump forward 25-30 years and we have children who have been asking for a 4 wheeler (ATV). We have considered buying an ATV to use for yard work, snow removal, etc. After paying off of our students loans, we bought an ATV with a snow shovel attachment. We have really enjoyed the ATV.

T-ball

Justin had his 1st t-ball game tonight. He was the 1st batter of the game. He hit the ball and started running to 3rd base! After he was turned back toward 1st base, he did fine. T-ball is so much fun to watch!

BASE jumper

As we were driving back home from Twin Falls one day, we noticed that there were some BASE jumpers getting ready to jump (parachute) off the Perrine Bridge. We were able to watch 3 jumpers. For us, it is always a relief when their parachutes open! The Perrine Bridge is 486' from the bridge to the ground below. BASE jumping is a crazy sport and fun to watch!

Great take-off, not such a great landing!
